Get a Beach Body
Getting a lean, muscle beach
body is all about a great set of abs and lean muscle that’s worthy of a lot of
exposure. Doing this means you must focus on your nutrition. You’ll want to eat
smaller meals, at least five times a day, with some eating as many as 7,
depending on their body weight. These meals should focus on protein (this will
help you build and maintain that lean muscle), fiber (which will keep you
feeling full longer), and complex carbohydrates (these will provide you with
constant fuel for more energy….which you’ll need if you plan to have that beach
body!).
A lean muscular beach body
means you’ll want to start limiting your calorie intake. You don’t want to do
this so much where your body thinks it’s in starvation mode, but you won’t lose
that layer of fat covering up those muscles unless you create a deficit. Women
should aim for 20 calories per pound of body weight while men should aim for 25.
The key here is replacing foods, not removing foods. Add more leafy greens and
take away the breadbasket. Focus on
eating a lot of nuts, eggs (a healthy combination of yolks and no yolks),
spinach, fish, chicken breasts, and peanut butter. These foods will provide you
with the fuel you’re looking for without depriving you of important vitamins and
minerals.
Having a lean body that’s beach
ready also means you’ll have to put down the cocktails the majority of the time,
especially beer. Beer is filled with calories, carbs, and leaves you feeling
bloated with good reason! Instead, go for a diet soda mixed with clear,
unsweetened liquor.
Exercise is your other key to a
beach body. Flat abs are a hallmark of a healthy lean body and you should do
more than sit-ups to get there. Engage instead in a lot of compound exercises
that call upon several muscle groups to get involved. Shoot for working out five
days a week. Your body needs rest as much as it needs the fitness. Remember,
muscle is built once you leave the gym. Overworking your muscles will have the
opposite effect.
Be sure your fitness routine
provides a healthy combination of cardio and strength training. Having lean
muscle means you don’t have to be bulky, therefore, don’t let the weight room
intimidate you. Lighter weights lifted with more reps can also give you that
long, lean muscle you’re craving for that beach ready body.
