Developing a Complete Physique

Developing a complete physique means working on the total package. Focusing on total fitness is imperative. Wellness should not be ignored. Weight management keeps the body the ideal size. Finally, personal training sculpts the body into the desired shape and condition. Carefully including each of these four key goals in a workout, diet and health program will bring about dramatic improvements in physique.

Fitness

One of the intermediate goals to building a complete physique is developing fitness-related abilities. Cardiovascular exercise improves oxygen levels, lung capacity, heart health and endurance. Fitness means being fit for activities of daily living, and being able to do work and enjoy life with vigor. People who focus on total fitness have more strength for working and more zest for life. To become fit, the focus should be on improving abilities rather than on appearances, i.e., real-world fitness.

Wellness

Wellness is another intermediate goal in developing a complete physique. Exercise is one key. People who exercise regularly get sick less often and stay sick for shorter periods of time. Exercise improves many of the body’s systems, from the cardiovascular system to the nervous system. The important thing in developing wellness is to maintain a steady routine of exercise. At the same time, it is important to avoid negative influences on wellness, such as smoking, drinking to excess or getting too little sleep.

Weight Management

Weight management is a goal that is different for every person. Some will want to be slim and sleek. This is fine, as long as the body is not over-trained or under-nourished to the point of unhealthiness. Some people have an overweight or obesity problem to overcome.

Others might want to gain weight, but to gain it all as muscle. It is possible to have a somewhat heavy but healthy body weight. People who want that type of total physique should learn all the secrets of gaining healthy lean body mass. Weight management involves both exercise and diet. Whether a thin physique or a muscular physique is wanted, the diet should include healthy foods and limited treats, and the chosen exercise should keep the weight moving in the right direction.

Body Sculpting

Through personal training and strength training, an individual can sculpt his body to fine tune every muscle group. This is the realm of 6-pack abs, bulging biceps, strong legs, and a toned upper body. It is also through personal training that people can get rid of problem bulges, such as love handles. Sculpting the body to the precise shape desired takes experience and know-how. It is important to know how to alternate sculpting exercises so that balance is maintained in the body.

In the end, developing a complete physique is a worthy overall goal. The intermediate goals it takes to get to the main goal are gained by healthy living, good exercise, healthful diet, and a strong personal training regimen. It is the combination of all these factors that results in achieving the best possible physical outcome.
