Circuit training is a relatively familiar term to those who are involved in a training program. Metabolic circuit training differs from normal circuit training by including exercises that are known to give athletes a body that contains less fat and provides them with more conditioning throughout the workout.

When you begin to use metabolic circuit training as part of your MMA workout you will begin with one round of training that includes ten reps of each individual exercise. You will do at least four different exercises with no rest until all reps are done. With only a small rest at the end of the circuit you will then begin your second set of repetitions dropping one rep from each exercise being done. Each time you begin a new set continue to drop one rep from each exercise. When you reach the end of your circuit you will be down to one rep of each exercise.

The lack of rests between circuits is what makes this form of circuit training highly effective for MMA training. By dropping a rep after each completion, you are driven on to the next set and you will notice that this type of workout is rather quick and you are rewarded for your strenuous work by dropping one rep with each completion.

Some exercises to include in a metabolic circuit training session include pushups, inverted body rows, front squats and lunges. These are exercises that you are familiar with and will not require you to learn any new techniques to take full advantage of this training technique. Adding these types of exercises to your current workout plan, allows you to modify the workouts to suit your level of fitness and will grow with you as your level of fitness increases.

Adding metabolic circuit training to your MMA exercise routine will give you more of a well-rounded training program that was designed to make you stronger and faster. This is a beneficial way of training for individuals who are training in mixed martial arts. It will help build your body mass while helping you become leaner and carry less body fat. There are many benefits to adding metabolic circuit training to your existing training program.

If you are unsure whether this type of training program is right for you, you may want to consider talking to your trainer or a trainer at the facility where you work out. This will help you understand what is involved in the process and how it will benefit and enhance your current workout. If you are currently participating in a mixed martial arts program you will notice how effective this type of training can be to your workout regimen.

Metabolic circuit training may not be right for everyone and should only be attempted if you feel that you are in good enough physical shape to add it to your routine. Once you participate in this type of training, you will begin to notice the difference in your body and overall strength.
