Essential Vitamins for Health and Performance

There are several essential vitamins you can take daily to optimize health and performance. If you work out on a regular basis your body could use some vitamins to supplement your healthy diet. No matter what you take, always stick to a healthy diet.

You will get a lot of the essential vitamins from the foods you eat. Multivitamins can also be taken to supplement this which will ensure you receive all you need to maintain good health. This is especially important if you are burning fat and gaining muscle mass.

Vitamin C is an essential vitamin you just can't do without. It helps the teeth, eyes, muscles, bones and overall cellular structure of the body. While you will get Vitamin C in many fruits and vegetables, you will also find it in vitamin supplements.

B-Complex is another important essential vitamin group. It must be balanced with all eight essential B's. This helps improve the health of the cardiovascular system, increases energy production, assists the body in the use of carbohydrates, proteins and fats. Again, it can be found in a multivitamin supplement.

Vitamin E is an anti-oxidant that helps promote heart health and increases immune function.

Omega 3 fatty acid is another essential. Fish oil is a good source of fatty acid and promotes overall good health. It can be taken in supplements for a greater effect.

There are many different types of multivitamins on the market. When determining what you need, you must first consider your diet. If you already eat a well balanced diet you are probably getting many of the essential vitamins you need in some form or another. You may not be getting the amounts you need which is why taking multivitamins is a good idea.

One of the easiest ways to obtain all your essential vitamins is to buy a multivitamin you can take daily. This way you only need to take one in order to acquire your essentials. Also make sure your diet contains the essential vitamins, being careful not to get too much. This is important if you are already taking a one-a-day multivitamin. Too much of certain vitamins can actually produce negative effects on the body.

Consult your physician to learn your specific needs. Depending on your health situation you might be in need of one particular vitamin more so than others. Your doctor can also recommend a good multivitamin to take.

Multivitamins are among the best dietary supplements you can use. They are found in any drug store and in super markets everywhere. These vitamins will provide energy before, during and after your workouts. They are inexpensive supplements that are offered by many different companies.

You may choose to take some of the vitamins separately instead of deciding on a one-a-day multivitamin. These, too aren't very costly and are easy to acquire.
