With summer already upon us, many women are struggling to get their bikini body back. This means that it’s time to get off the couch and back into the gym. Just because summer has already started, it is not too late for you to rock that bikini on the beach. If you are already in good physical shape it will take your body approximately three weeks to adapt to a new workout routine. This means that as you repeat a workout over and over, it will soon become easier for you to finish and your body doesn’t have to work as hard as it did when you first started. While you may see this as a positive step, what it really means is that your body isn’t being challenged, you are burning fewer calories and your metabolism may become stuck.
In order for you to burn more fat and build lean muscle, you have to challenge your body. This can be accomplished by introducing new aspects into your existing workout. First of all, you need to examine your existing workout to determine what you may be doing wrong or what your body isn’t recognizing as a challenge. Once you do that you should add exercises that work different muscle groups. Adding new and different exercises into your workout routine you will shock your metabolism while also increasing your heart rate. By including some new exercises into your workout routine you will also burn more calories. Experts believe that by changing your routine you will likely burn an extra 500 calories an hours plus 300 calories in the hours after your workout.
Some new exercises that you might want to add to your current workout regimen include the sumo deadlift shuffle, dumbbell shot-put presses, and dumbbell pivoting squats, split-stance alternating bent-over rows, dumbbell skier swing, dumbbell pushup holds and dumbbell rotational lunges. When performed in addition to your existing workout plan you will soon begin to notice positive changes. These are all relatively simple exercises that do not require any special equipment. If you have a pair of dumbbells at home, you are ready to get started.
In order for you to get the most out of these exercises, you should workout out three times a week on alternating days. During each workout you should perform the above mentioned exercises using the circuit training method. When you have completed one circuit, it is important that you rest for a few minutes and then begin the next circuit repeating two or three times per workout. During one of your workouts you should use heavier weights than you are accustomed to. For each of the above exercises you should perform as many reps as possible in 30 seconds. Then rest for 30 seconds before beginning your next set. Another workout plan requires that you use lighter weights to complete the exercises. For each exercise you should again perform as many reps as possible, but this time for 50 seconds. Resting for at least 10 seconds between each set.
Working out is not everyone’s favorite thing to do in their spare time, but if you want to look good in your bikini this summer it is something that must be done. Following these workout suggestions will make working out more productive and you will begin noticing results relative quickly.
