Much Ado About Abs

60 Second Abs
Aside from looking nice, strong abdominals are very important for health and sports performance. Almost everything you do requires participation from your abs. So what is the secret to strong abs?
The secret is that there is no secret. No secret exercise. No secret diet. No magic pill. What people often miss is the obvious point that you abdominals are muscles, just like every other muscle in your body. What’s good for training other muscles is also good for training your abs.
First of all you need variety of exercises. Doing crunches every day won’t cut it. There are a million different ab exercises out there, use them all. In fact, on HyperStrike, we have 43 unique ab exercises so go browse the HyperStrike exercise lab for new exercises, videos and instructions.
Second, you need variety of volume and intensity. Doing a million reps every day won’t cut it either. Some days high rep, some days add weight. Different rep ranges and different intensities are as important as different exercises.
Finally, make sure you use your abs for every exercise you do. Like I said before they are involved in almost every movement. Make a conscious effort to involve them every rep and see how much stronger you feel.
Through proper training and proper progression you too can have abs that look good and perform great. Remember to use them for every rep of every exercise and train your abs with a variety of different exercises, volume and intensity.
