The hardest part of an exercise program is developing a plan and sticking to it. How do you know what types of exercise will provide the best results and which exercises will help you reach your goals? Hiring a fitness trainer to set up a plan and work out with is a luxury that many of us cannot afford however going online for help is much more realistic.

An online fitness trainer can do almost everything that a trainer in the gym can do except be there in person. You will get a custom designed workout program which is tailored to meet your needs. Once you identify the areas of your body that you want to work, the trainer will come up with exercises to address your concerns. Your trainer will help you set up your exercise program so that you are not working the same muscle groups each session giving them time to recover and grow. The trainer will also be able to help you achieve a proper balance between strength training and aerobic activity.

Having your own trainer means that there is someone holding you accountable for getting your work in. No matter how disciplined you are, you will benefit from having someone else monitoring your progress. If the trainer is not seeing the type of results that are expected, he will tweak the routine or challenge you to work harder. Each of the exercises that are recommended will come with a video showing how they should be performed to make sure that you are doing them correctly. Improper execution could lead to injury.

When you work with an online trainer you are also establishing a permanent record of your exercise activity. You will be required to log workouts, listing the time spent on the treadmill or exercise bike. You will also have to log the amount of weight lifted and repetitions from each strength training session. This is an excellent way to chart your progress and show the commitment you have made to your exercise program. It is very satisfying to look back at your exercise log to see what you have accomplished.
