Exercise Routines: Intermediate

Now that you have been into your muscle building program for a while, you may be wondering how to take things to the next level. This is very common and will happen several times during your muscle building career. Most people get stuck in the same exercises and routines and their bodies will reach a plateau. That means you body will become used to the exercises and it will be harder to build more muscle mass unless you step up your workouts.

It may be time to introduce you to an isolation exercises. These isolation exercises will allow for more movement in your muscle and will help to increase your muscle mass. If you have not been training areas like your triceps, biceps, calves or abdominal muscles now is the time to start working on those muscle groups also. The use of machines will allow you to work your muscles a little harder and will provide a better muscle building workout. Some people may find that working one group of muscles per day is more beneficial than working several or all muscle groups in a day. It is thought to be helpful to rest muscles by doing exercises every other day. This doesn’t mean that you can’t do muscle building exercises every day. Though it is important that you allow your muscles to rest, exercises should be performed in groups.

It is also important to switch up your muscle building exercise routine from time to time. Surprising muscles by changing the way your normal routine is performed will be helpful in building more muscle mass. This also helps keep you from reaching those hard to overcome plateaus.

As you know nutrition is an important part of muscle building and if you are in the intermediate category of muscle builders it is time to take your supplements to the next level. Nutrition plays an important role in building lean muscle mass. If you have not added supplements like creatine or increased your protein intakes, this might be the key to get you over that hurdle that you are stuck in right now. Take the time to familiarize yourself with the muscle building supplements on the market today and see what might be right for your tastes and nutritional needs. Needing additional supplements for your workouts is not a bad thing. This means that you are growing more muscle mass and that your current nutrition level can no longer support your workouts. It simply means that your body is now ready to take things to the next level.

In no time at all you will be ready to tackle those advanced muscle building workouts.
