Best Workout Plans for Lean Muscle

Lean muscle is the look of a man or woman who has a low body fat percentage and toned but not overly toned arms, legs, midsection and so on. Building lean muscle seems like an intimidating thing to take on, but in truth there are several best workout plans you can add together to form the perfect plan for building lean muscle. Of course it will be hard work (no exercise plan that is worth it will tell you it’s not), but no harder than you may already be working out.

Interval Training

Interval training is usually used in cardio exercising. It incorporates periods of shorter, higher intensity bursts with longer, lower intensity recovering periods, whether this is in walking, running, swimming, biking, etc. Doing this allows your body to keep up its heart rate without overdoing it, helping you burn off fat, build muscle and build endurance in the same workout plans. Interval training can be one of the best workout plans to build lean muscle.

No Overdoing It

Strength training is common among workout plans, but overdoing it is folly. Overdoing it in the form of overtraining muscles can be detrimental to the building of lean muscle mass, which can cause muscle fatigue and damage rather than building. Overdoing it is often feared as well with women, afraid of looking bulky rather than lean. Fear not, however, because weight training workout plans for women are safe – women do not have the hormone production or body build to bulk up too much with strength training, they are basically guaranteed lean muscle mass.

Rest

Though not one of the workout plans themselves, adequate rest is a huge part of workout plans of all types. Only with proper rest and sleep (there is a difference) can your muscles recover from hard workouts and weight training, therefore becoming stronger and growing into lean, beautiful muscles. Sleep, on the other hand, helps the body reboot, relax and prepare itself for another day of working out. Workout plans that include ample amount of rest are generally those that are the most successful in building lean muscle mass.
