Workout Plans Get Results
Workout plans can be complex, confusing and sometimes
overwhelming to continue through once you get started. When you hit a plateau, a
slump, or simply a lazy day it can be tempting to quit and say you’ll start up
again next week…or the week after. However, sticking to your workout plans can
be the best way to break through that slump, and it’s important to do so to keep
your health and plans on track.
Don’t Quit
This may seem like a no-brainer, but choosing the couch
over the open road after a long day of work may persuade you otherwise. It’s
important to push through even when you’re exhausted for a few reasons. One –
you’ll feel GREAT about yourself after your workout, even if you hated every
minute of it. Two – exercise releases feel-good endorphins and relieves stress
so you can enjoy that hard earned TV time after your workout even more.
Switch it Up
Many people find it hard to stick with workout plans for
results because they find exercise boring, or at least the exercise they’ve been
doing for the past 12 weeks or so. The good news is that switching up your
exercises can have a few positive results as well. First, exercising in
different ways keeps your body guessing, which will help it get a better workout
and in turn, can help you break through that plateau. Another great reason is
that switching it up can help your workout plans stay more varied, making it
more interesting in general to do a different routine.
Try Something Fun
All exercise doesn’t have to be boring, monotonous and
work, though that’s what many exercise plans seem to incorporate. Try doing a
fun exercise program like Zumba or yoga for a fun activity that still burns
calories and strengthens/lengthens muscles. Or, try playing vigorously (not just
supervising) with your kids outside for half an hour. Play sports like
basketball with your friends, or have sprint-races with your kids to get your
heart really pumping. Doing something fun can be just what you need to stick
with your workout plans.
