Vacation Workouts

Vacation is for fun in the sun, beach gazing, tours, sightseeing, and much more – fun, in other words. But when you’re on strict workout plans to get as healthy as possible as fast as possible, it can be dangerous to your motivation, plan and results to take a full week or two off for a vacation. Luckily, there are workout plans you can follow and participate in while you’re on vacation so that you can keep on track but not get too bummed about working out.

Hit the Gym

It may sound boring and monotonous, but working out in your hotel or accommodation’s gym can be a great help when it comes to working out on vacation. To get it out of the way, try doing it first thing in the morning before you shower and hit the pool to be under less stress as you go and so you can have the maximum fun the rest of the day on your vacation. Feeling a little hungover? Hit the pool for a rejuvenating workout.

Play in the Sun

Beach volleyball, surfing, running on the beach, and even games like Frisbee can be amazing workouts in the sun. Surfing and running work both your upper and lower body and they are considered a killer workout for your core, because your body has to stabilize itself more often. Frisbee is a lot of running, and volleyball is of course a full workout as well.

Take a Hike

Depending on where you are vacationing to, hiking can be an amazing workout that also allows you to see the scenery and view of the local nature trails. Take a friend with you, plenty of water for hydration and high-protein snacks like trail mix or jerky to keep you going for a fun, full day of exercise and relaxation. There’s nothing better than hitting the trails with a loved one or partner for a full day of conversation – or alone for a nice time of reflection as you see wildlife, historical spots, and the beautiful scenic area of your vacation spot.
