If you work full-time at an
office you know you sit too much. A sedentary lifestyle is not good for you. You
can benefit from exercises that you can easily do while at your desk.
The first stretch is your
face. Make funny faces and open your mouth up wide. This is not really a fitness
exercise but it will benefit you by lessening your chance of getting a headache.
One of the exercises you can
do for fitness at the office is arm circles. Simply stick your arms out to your
sides and make little circles. You can make small or large arm circles. You can
do the arm circles backwards and forwards.
Shoulder shrugs are another
great exercise to help prevent headaches. Simply lift up your shoulders as if
shrugging to say “I don’t know.” Hold for five seconds and repeat 5 to 10 times.
Twist your waist from side
to side. Repeat this 10 times in three sets for a total of 30 twists.
You can do leg exercises as
well. Point your toes and touch the ground one leg at a time. Switch legs and
repeat. Do these slowly and count to ten. Repeat three times.
Another one of the fitness
at the office exercises you can do is calf raises. Lift the heel of your foot up
and slowly lower it back to the ground. Do this 10 times in sets of three. You
can do these at your desk or when you are talking to a coworker. At first this
may be distracting but your coworkers will get used to it. Your coworkers may
even join you in some of the office fitness moves.
Tone your buttocks while you
are sitting at your desk. Simply squeeze your buttocks for 30 seconds. Do this
five times in sets of three. You will feel the burn.
If your office has a workout
room use it. You will use one of your benefits at work very wisely. You will
save money as you are already at work and do not have to drive to another
fitness facility.
Any chance you get at the
office walk. Do not take the elevator. On your break or lunch go for a
fast-paced walk. You will come back to work feeling much more refreshed. You
will be able to take on the afternoon by becoming more productive and less tired
yearning for a sugar snack to boost your energy.
