As a child what was your favorite thing to do? Your answer was probably “play.” Think of all the times you were so busy running around and playing. As you got older you became more sedentary. It is now time to play with fitness.

Get out and walk with your children and significant other or spouse. Make it a fun game while you all chat. This will keep you closer to your family and get you all into shape.

Play tag outside with your kids. Run around, chase and share laughs together.

Challenge your kids to a game of tennis. Get up early on a Saturday morning and head to the local school or park and play a game of tennis. This will help your child improve his learning skills as well as yours.

Ride bicycles together to the park. You can plan a healthy little lunch, too. Pack fruits, vegetables, water and healthy sandwiches on wheat bread. Make sure you can carry your picnic basket on your bicycle. You may want to add a basket to your bicycle for times like these. You and your spouse/significant other and/or family will enjoy spending quality time together.

Another way to play with fitness is while you are at the park, play a game of volleyball if your park has a court. You can also play baseball if you wish.

Play on the park or school equipment with your kids. You will have fun moving around and you will become much more fit when doing so.

Go to the beach, your backyard or the lake and play a game of Frisbee. You can play Frisbee with your spouse or significant other, friends, family members or even your dog.

Get into your fitness routine by playing kickball with your kids. Strengthen your legs while you kick and run. You will enjoy getting outdoors in the fresh air and relieving stress from your workday.

Another way to play with fitness is to play a game of flashlight tag.  Instead of sitting in front of the TV or computer, grab a flashlight and run around with your children. The memories you create together are priceless.

If it is raining out, go outside and play in the rain. Splash in the puddles with your bare feet. Ride your bike through the puddle while you lift up your feet.

To play with fitness you need to think back to your childhood and keep moving as you did when you used to play hours on end.
