If you have not yet delved into the world of strength training, there are several factors you should first consider. Before ever starting any fitness routine, it is important to keep in mind you should always start with ease. You are building muscles, not torturing them, so it is not necessary to have sore muscles after a workout. You want to start light, getting your muscles used to the exercises. As you progress, the fitness training will increase and become more vigorous.

Always stretch before and after any workout. This is important and will keep your muscles pliable. This will help reduce your chances of pulling or tearing a muscle and will make exercising easier all around. Stretching before prepares your muscles for what is to come while doing so during the cool-down phase will help work out any soreness. Well-stretched muscles are also able to move much more easily than those that haven’t been stretched.

Exercise all the muscles groups. You will want to incorporate exercises into your fitness routine that work your abs, arms, legs, chest and back. There are various exercises you can do to strengthen each of these areas of your body just as there are different types of muscles contained in each.

Make sure you are doing each exercise correctly. Failing to do this can actually hurt you because you will risk pulling or tearing muscles when moving them incorrectly. You will also receive the maximum benefits from each exercise when you perform them the right way.

Increase your repetitions. As you go along, you will be more in shape. Your body will start to feel this and you may find it time to increase the number of repetitions for each exercise. This is where endurance comes in to play. As you advance you will build that stamina that will enable you to exercise for a longer period of time. By increasing your repetitions you will also increase the amount of time you exercise.

Incorporate aerobic exercise into your fitness routine. This is what will keep your heart healthy and help you burn any unwanted fat. The idea is to burn more calories than you take in and by choosing aerobic exercise you will be able to do just that.
