There is no shortcut to achieving the body that you desire. Dietary changes and an intense workout routine will put you well on the road to weight loss but there are a few secrets that can make your journey a little easier and ultimately more successful.

Believe it or not one of the secrets is to eat. It is absolutely essential that you not starve yourself as part of any diet plan because that is only going to slow down your metabolism and make losing weight that much tougher. You need to limit the number of calories that you consume but you must not skip meals. In fact, a body transformation secret used by many body builders is to consume several small meals each day. This helps keep the metabolism from slowing down and provides nutrients for muscle growth and recovery.

Another body transformation secret used by body builders is to exercise on an empty stomach. Research shows that training first thing in the morning is the best way to burn fat since it has been several hours since any food was consumed. Before the body starts utilizing stored fat to fuel your workout it relies on the carbohydrates which have been consumed most recently. The morning hours are excellent for aerobic activities like walking or running which you can follow with a breakfast of whole grain cereal and low fat milk.

When doing strength training, one of the body transformation secrets used by successful weight lifters is to add an aerobic element to their routine. This means moving from exercise to exercise at a steady pace and not wasting time at the water cooler or chatting with friends. If you workout like a man on a mission, you will keep your heart rate up and burn fat at the same time that you are building muscle. Try to perform a couple of exercises in succession without stopping to rest in between. Trainers call these supersets and try to pick lifts which work different parts of the body. For example, start with a leg press and bench press to be followed by lat pull downs and squats.
