Metabolism plays a very significant role in fat loss. The more revved your metabolism is, the easier it will be to burn calories throughout the day. But what do you do when you are unable to boost your metabolism to fat burning levels?

If you have found yourself having great difficulty losing weight, perhaps you have Metabolic Syndrome. If you are eating less and exercising more but still can't seem to shed those unwanted pounds, perhaps this applies to you. This is also referred to as fat loss resistance and plagues many people.

If your metabolism is not functioning as it should, you won't be able to burn calories or stored fat. Boosting your metabolism is what gets rid of weight and is also what makes your body continue burning calories throughout the day. You may find yourself with less energy than before which makes no sense to you because you are eating and exercising as you should.

It is important to recognize the symptoms of Metabolic Syndrome. These can include: being overweight with fat deposits around the waist that just won't go away no matter what you do, hormone imbalances, stress and adrenal fatigue and hypothyroidism.

In order to know if this is what is going on, you must see a doctor who will be able to make a diagnosis. If Metabolism Syndrome is, in fact the problem, medication can be prescribed to help the condition. The particular medication that is used will depend on the exact problem as well as your symptoms.

Once your metabolism has been returned to normal you body will then be able to burn both calories you are taking in and stored fat. If you think you may have Metabolic Syndrome but have not suffered any of the symptoms mentioned above, you should see your doctor. Trouble losing weight alone can be an indicator of this condition as can constant fatigue. You need to know why you are unable to lose weight in order to resolve the problem and seeing your physician is the first step.

Once you metabolism is working correctly, you will find yourself with more energy than before. In fact, the difference may even be staggering. You will have more energy and will feel better throughout the day. Your dieting and exercising endeavors will begin really paying off in a big way and you will begin dropping those unwanted pounds like never before. You can then reach your weight loss goals secure in the knowledge that you will be able to keep it all off.
